Can you believe the holiday season is upon us?  Yesterday I joked when Joe asked what I had planned for the day that I was putting the tree up for Christmas!  Ha, he didn't find that overly funny, but was a bit nervous I could have been serious!  Traditionally I never decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving.  I do however start my shopping.  When the boys were little I would have 90% off my shopping done before September ended.  As the years have passed and the boys grown I have not been as good with this goal.   So I hope my gift guides are helpful for you as they are for me!  First up with my gift guides is the best friend.  That person who is your ride or die friend.  This is for her!

Instagram Happenings

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Mine was busy and productive, but never long enough! Today I am sharing a few favorites from my instagram account of what's happening there.  Do you follow me on instagram?  There are exciting things I am working on behind the scenes in my office and my blog so stay tune for that announcement.  It is finally cool enough to wear my favorite booties.... and found the perfect amount of distress on a new pair of jeans for under $60.  Sharing my favorite lipstick color and tortoise sunnies.  There is something to wearing this pink color even in fall that just makes me happy!  OH, and it's #Pinktober and that means Breast Cancer Awareness and lots of pink!

Tunic Love

I love to be comfortable as much as the next person, so when I first was introduced to the Dizzy Lizzie brand I was impressed.  Her styles are bright, colorful, and scream summertime!  I am a sucker for pink as you know, so when she sent me this bright pink tunic I immediately loved it.  The cotton is lightweight making it the perfect weight for this weather.  How fun are these cuffs too?  Oh, and pockets please and Thank You!   Love it!  I own three Dizzy Lizzie shirts as well and they are so comfortable with just the right amount of stretch... if you know where I mean! I can't speak for tall gals, but I can  say that being short has it advantages in regards to wearing a tunic sans leggings.  Obviously I would not wear it to my office without leggings... although I did pass the length above the knee test with it!  This is definitely going in my suitcase for my trip to California next month!  It will make a perfect cover up for my suit and keep me looking cute all at the same time!

The first thing I loved about this sweater was the bold neon stripe.  I never even imagined it would be the same neon in my fave Ann Taylor floral pants.  It was a match made for sure.  If you don't own a pair of floral pants you need to own a pair.  They go with so much.  I have always owned at least one pair of floral pants.  Right now I think I have three different pairs.  I remember one time while in Vegas my pants actually matching the colors in the casino carpet.  That is colorful!!  One of the other things I love about this varsity sweater is it is navy instead of black.  


And did you notice my new monogram tote?  Have you heard of Grateful Bags?  If you love a good monogram then you definitely  need to hop over to their site and take a look around. They have the cutest clutches and I love the new cork design. The monogram is interchangeable between bags which opens up all sorts of color combinations.   I carry a tote almost every single day to the office.  Sometimes I actually carry two.  Joe swears I have a bag problem.... ummm yeah!!!  I love a good tote!  TGIF!

Life Updates

Hi guys.  So I have been a little hit and miss ever since the holidays.  I'm sorry... not sorry.  It felt great to take a break and just absorb the time off from work and blogging.  Sure, there were nights I would think about picking up my laptop and start posting but I enjoyed my "me" time so much it rarely happened.  I have however, been working on a few things behind the blog that I hope you guys love as much as I do.  I want to tell you about a new series I am launching next Tuesday.  It will become my How To day sharing all my DIY's with you from how to create a gallery wall, to making perfect cut out cookies!  I am still going to be sharing my outfits and favorites, and just about anything else that suits my fancy on the other days of the week too!
I have been working hard discovering new designers and products that excites me and a few collaborations that are amazing! 


So here is a phone dump of a little bit of what has been going on.  You may have seen some of these pic if you follow me on instagram already! 

I know its the middle of January, but this was my December.  We had an ugly sweater contest at our company luncheon and this is what we decided to wear. There were 18 ugly sweaters in all and  I won second place, but only behind by one point!

 
Some of the sights from around my house.  These boys playing batman on my office floor was so fun to watch.  Their little imaginations reminded me of how my boys use to play with them as well.   My grandson had corrective surgery on his legs and was in full leg cast for a month then switched to these half leg cast.  Poor little guy.  He was a trooper just pulling himself along refusing to use the wheelchair!   My new Blair Ritchey PAK..... love this bag, and a whole jar full of bath bombs!  Velvet crates hand delivered a gift box I won to my home and it was fabulous.  Ummm I need more of that funckychunky Sea Salt Caramel for sure!
 
 

A little tribute to all my monograms, my desk ready for the new year, A few new goodies arrived in the mail I will be sharing soon, and of course... on the last day of the year... and it being a Wednesday... We wear pink!

Weekly Favorites

Happy Wednesday!  This weeks favorites are a bit random, but favorites non the less.  I saw this bag on my instagram feed and loved it immediately.  I know, you're thinking its just an ordinary speedy.  The ends which are solid black leather pull out to take on a more trapeze look.  Talk about taking on another look, this Ann Taylor cape with the zipper sides makes wearing a cape not just for super heroes!   Now you know I love a good monogram and who doesn't need a shaker for their bar cart... this would make a perfect wedding gift too!   Another monogram love of mine is this Lulu Frost necklace.  You may have seen it a while back on my instagram.  There is something wonderful to just a lone initial don't you think?   

Now I know I shared fall lips and transitioning your makeup to fall here, but this rich creamy Laura Mercier lipstick is so pretty.  It is dark for sure, but with the right outfit it would be gorgeous.  Lastly, this bootie is a pretty strong contender for my wardrobe.  What color of bootie would you purchase?  Black or brown?  Leather or suede?  Black is versatile, but there is something softer to the light suede.

I'm finally ready to share my office space with you.  I know I have mentioned it several times and I have even shared little sneak peeks before.... but today you get the whole shebang!!!! Welcome to my office, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!  I linked to all my product sources at the end of the post but If I missed something please let me know and I will try to recall the source for you. I recently completed the gallery wall next to my desk.  I had been gathering things that I loved for some time to hang on the wall and finally earlier this summer I felt happy with how it was coming together.  I hung them with the help of my bestie over the 4th weekend.  I love how I have just the right amount of space still on the wall in the event I come across a little something to add!  This is where I spend a lot of time working when I am at home.  We just love the space and the feel in the room when we are both working.  We placed our desk back to back to open up the room and it allows us to work facing each other rather than backed up, or side by side.  You can clearly see the invisible line down the room form her side... to his side....Ha!  There is a TV mounted on the wall in the corner up behind his desk so when we are taking a break from working at our desk we can catch a little something to watch.  The only thing that is left for this room to be complete is to find the right window covering.  I am leaning towards a pair of clean sheer white panels.  What do you think? I have collected paperweights for many years now and have them displayed in this antique curio cabinet that belonged to my grandmother.  My mom always finds uniquely detailed paperweights in Europe when she travels to add to my collection.  There is an art to blowing glass and not every paperweight is a collectable.

Sheer Blue

 I  mentioned last week that my best girl was back in town.  She took these pictures for me as we headed out for dinner on the plaza. We had a wonderful  long weekend catching up and just enjoying some girl time.  I cannot believe summer is half way over too!  I mentioned last year several times that I really wanted to add more color to my wardrobe.... and particularly the color blue.  Do you ever just look at your closet and feel it's missing a spectrum of the rainbow?  The good news is... I now find myself shopping for blues and greens, with pink always an option!  

 What I want to point out is this blouse is my first purchase from H&M.  I have mentioned before that I always felt like it was geared for much younger girls, and cut for them too.  Gayle talked me into giving them another try and I am glad I did.  We found this perfect longer blouse for wearing with legging.  I love that the shoulders are a full cut too so a strapless bra isn't necessary.  I layer my blouse over a lace bandeau, threw on my favorite wedges and it was a comfy outfit for a girls dinner, and for running around it's perfect with flats too.  I picked up several pieces form H&M and love them all.  I'm so glad I gave them another chance.  Now that's not to say I will always be this lucky there, but I will keep it as an option for sure!  Do you have a store that you pass on?  Maybe you should give them another look.... I'm glad I did!

Happy Wednesday friends!  I am sharing this weeks favorites hot on the heels of my birthday list!  I bet your asking how these didn't make the list aren't you?  Well... I couldn't make the list too big now could I ?! Some favorites that caught my eye are these 
Alex and Ani bracelets.  I have seen a few friends wearing them and love them.  I want a stack of about three to add to my bracelet collection and what better than my initial.  You can't go wrong there! I also love this, and this for my stack!  Speaking of initials...  Maya Brenner  jewelry is such a dainty option and I love the triple initial necklace.  I would have my three boys initials of course.  This is a perfect  Option  as well.   The new Kate Spade Agenda for 2015 has been released and I love the green.  It is not easy to switch up from the polka dots in gold but hey... every girl needs a little switch up every now and then right? 



With my gallery wall finally in place in my office I am ready to start taking photographs and share my work space with you.  I have the perfect spot in my office for this Boll and Branch cable throw to curl up with on fall nights. Doesn't is just look cozy?    Now I know you have seen the pineapple love this year all over the place, but tell me... how stinkin cute are these Hattan Home jars? Seriously?  I love them.  No favorites would be complete without sandals or pink... or better yet both!  These  Loeffler Randall Sandals are screaming summer fun!

My Birthday List

My Birthday is coming up...and not just any birthday, but the big one!!  Yes... I will be turning 50 on August 3rd.  So... with that being said I decided to round up a few things that are on my list.  I tend to be a sentimental person when it comes to gifts but this year I am leaning more towards fabulous treats for me!  Who wouldn't want a Disco bag for their birthday... or a new pair of Sunnies and a great stack of new bracelets!  This girl that's who!! I want  every. Single. Thing. on this list!

Monogram Love with GIGI New York

I remember growing up during the original preppy era.  We popped out collars, layered our Polo's, and pastels were the rage. I owned a pair of pink Sperry's that I wore until they were coral, and  having your initials on your cuff, collar, or bag was a must as well.  

Trends come back around and this trend I am particularly fond of.  I have monogram plates, necklaces, pillows, trays... you name it I probably have it monogrammed.  When I first fell in love with GIGI New York and Graphic image their parent company, I knew the monogramming feature was a plus.   My Graphic Image datebook, journal and now my tote all have my initials on them.  It is a feature that takes an ordinary item... although I would hardly say GIGI New York or Graphic Image is ordinary... and turns it into the perfect accessory. And for me if I ever do take a few sacred vows with my guy, my initials stay the same... Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all have wonderful Mother's Day plans either for yourself or with your special momma!  My oldest son still calls me momma while my other two boys call me mom, or when they are frustrated I will hear "Mother"!???? I just think  it is cute to here "momma" out of my 26 year old son's mouth!  He's still my baby! All my boys will be home this weekend with their families for a hopefully sunny weekend.  The boys have plans to go to NASCAR while the girls have plans to shop!!!  Sounds like a win for me!  I am looking forward to planting a few things in my yard, watching all the boys play, and spending some quality time with my family.  I might even get a little color on the old shoulders too on Sunday!  We plan on going to the zoo for Mother's Day! Have a great weekend and I will see you Monday with a fun outfit!
