It's all in the Props

I want to start this post by explaining a piece of a blogger's life.  When taking outfits pics you want a setting that is cohesive to what you are wearing.  At least I do!  For example:  A pair of stilettos in grass or a field really doesn't give a genuine impression to you really are wearing that outfit. Every time I have stepped off the street or curb onto the grass in even a smaller heel I stop and think about "does this even look natural?"   So finding a location to shoot can some times be an adventure.  That is what brings me to these pictures.  While running errands and shooting pictures one afternoon Erin and myself stumbled upon this studio.  Ummm cool studio I might add!  It was a prop girls dream come true! I instantly knew the pinball machine needed to be my prop.  The lighting flooding in and the shadows playing across the floor was the best.
Speaking of floors..... these slippers!!  Jem Skull Slippers to be exact.   You may have remembered I have posted about them here.  Loving them from the minute I saw them I knew I wanted a pair.  Now I have a limit to what I will spend on shoes and these exceeded such limit.  I have patiently and oh so quietly followed Mara and Mine just hoping and waiting for the chance to own a pair.  The heavens opened up and a fall sale occurred. I wasted no time making a pair mine!  I have received a few comments from friends as to what the exact draw to these shoes would be and I really don't have one answer.  I have always followed the beat to my own drum and don't necessarily follow trends to the tee.  Different, unique, and well.... just me!  After all that's what you are here to see isn't it?  Style from my perspective.

Christmas Wishlist

December 18, 2013

I'm keeping my wish list pretty simple this year. After all, it is WISH list right?  Not that any of this is going to show up under my tree, a girl can still wish!!  I have wanted this Blair Ritchey Lulu FOR EVER!  One day she will be mine, I know it!  These Frends headphones are perfect in the gold and white.

So lets talk slippers, shall we?  LOVE, these Mara and Mine Skull slippers, and to be honest I was ready to get them a few weeks ago, but sadly they are sold out of many sizes. Lucky for me, they are pricy, and I would have to get a lot of miles out of them to justify it, but hey this is a wish list right? not a reality list!

Oh these Loren Hope bracelets are the perfect link with the right amount of color for days you don't want to stack them on!

Whats on your wish list?  Don't forget I am linking up today!

Getting Organized

November 19, 2013
It's no surprise I have a lot of bracelets.  I have gotten to the point of leaving them out  and I don't like the messy look it creates on my dresser.  I have spent many years in the jewelry industry and knew it was time I display them better so I could find what I was looking for when getting dressed without to much digging around.  This is the messy embarrassing before shots of all the many ways my bracelets end up after a week of outfits!   A mess right?

Drawers, upon drawers, upon trays and dressers!  Ugh! I'm not complaining, I love my bracelets, but something needed to be done! Now you might be asking about now why in the world are all those pieces of jewelry in baggies?  Well, sterling oxidizes when its left in the air, and I don't feel like polishing each piece every time I want to wear it!  So, I bag every piece, and then I sort them in trays by style. Hello OCD!
And this is the after!!

I ordered a three bar bracelet display from Amazon.  I knew a three bar would make a dent, but I think I may need to add another at least two bar as well.

Nice, neat, and organized!  I organized the drawer to hold some of the bracelets that would not hang as well, and sorted the trays.  Now choosing my bracelets is no longer a task!

Since I was on an organizing kick, I also knew my scarves were out of control.  I ordered this tie and belt hook from Amazon as well and I am so glad I did.

The messy before.  I moved them out of the closet to take this picture to get better lighting, but trust me they were this messy in the closet too!

And the after!

I am so glad I took just as few minutes to research and order they two little gadgets to help get organized.  It really is the little things sometimes that go a long way!  I would love to hear any of your organizing tips and tricks you use around your home!

Four Favorites / Random

October 23, 2013

Sweater    Tote    Bangles     Illume Candle

Happy Wednesday!  This weeks favorites are a few random faves and they all say hello fall!!  I may or may not have already added this Joie leopard sweater to my line up this fall, and I reaaaaaalllly do want this Samantha Wills skull bangle!!!

I have been missing a good black bag to rotate with my outfits and this Henri Bendel is a great size and versatile with both handles, and a shoulder strap.  This is always my  favorite time of the year for candles and a great pumpkin scent from Illume to bring your senses right into fall is a must!  I wish burning a pumpkin candle year round was acceptable!

The Four Favorites link-up is held on Wednesdays and there aren't any rules.  Also share the button on your Four Favorites post!
Have fun with it and spread the word!

Four Faves // Randomness

July 16, 2013

Happy Wednesday lovelies!  I am so glad to be back after missing last weeks four favorites.  When I read that this week was random, I knew what had to be on my four faves!   Now before you even think that I couldn't possibly be needing a new bangle, you're so mistaken.  I cannot believe I don't own a skinny gold bangle.  I won a gift card from C Wonder a while back, and to be honest I am the worlds worst at spending my gift cards.  I have mentioned before how I can save them until just the right moment comes along, but the amount of time I have had this is a bit ridiculous.   So, That is where this too cute arrow bangle is currently in my shopping cart at C. Wonder!  It will be mine!  And I might add, spending the gift card is keeping within my spending freeze. Well, more like a spending cold!  Ha ha!

OK, I am going to be honest here. These slippers will be mine.  I love a slipper, and a suede slipper all the better.  When I first saw these I was completely smitten, and fell in love.  I mean really love these!  I would rock these until they fall apart.  Joe on the other hand, is not so sold on them.  He actually thought I was kidding when I showed them to him.  The bones stitched on the tops in silver, and the black suede, yes!! What's not to love!?  I see these bad boys in my future and ohhh will I be styling them for you!!

So this brings us to favorite number 3!! A cuff is no ordinary cuff when it is hand made, and that is exactly how this designer creates all her pieces.  I love the raised stones and the uniqueness with it, and in sterling!  Love love this cuff!

I couldn't let a random four favorites pass with out adding a tote that caught my eye either.  This Gigi New York shoppers tote is the perfect size, and I love the white pop off of the tan.  It is available in a mint green, and a fuchsia, but the white is what really has my attention.  I do think this would be a perfect tote that could easily transition from day to happy hour with no problem!

So, tell me, which of my four favorites is your favorite this week?  Don't forget Ashlyn and Kristin and their favorites!

I am also linking up with Shanna for random Wednesday!
