One of my favorite things to living in Florida was by far the dress code.  I am all about the warmer months and loved the ease of throwing on a sundress, or a cute off the shoulder top.  I cannot wait for spring and summer because this gal is suffocating in layers of winter.  We have had a few spotty days of nice temperatures, thank heavens! 

 Embroidery has been showing up on several fashion items from jeans to tops this season, and this cute off the shoulder top has soft pastel flowers embroidered down the sleeves. The little ruffle at the cuffs is a fun little flare too!  When I first bought this top I imagined it with white jeans and a colorful pump.  I like the versatility to an item; dress up with a heel, or more casual as I share here with a flat leopard mule.  Hang tight.... I will style this top with white jeans and colorful pumps and share it with you!

Wednesday Wants - Edition 3.3

I am loving all the styles of fabulous wedges this season.  Not all wedges are created equal.  There are wood, rope, tie up, lace up.... you pretty much get the idea.  Today I have rounded up a few favorites that have caught my eye.  I am loving the color #7 but they are hard to find but I linked to them anyway and they are available in another color combination as well.  If I had to chose favorites I would go with #5 and #8 for comfort, #6 and #7 obviously for great color, and #4 and #9 for the great ankle strap.  What are your favorite picks?

If you give me just a wee bit of warm weather I am ready to pull out my sandals.  I hate wearing closed toe shoes and I am busting at the seams to finally break out a pretty pedi.  These sandals caught my eye and I am ready for some open toes.  Who else is ready for sandals?  Those pom pom and tassels sandals are pretty cute.... not sure how comfortable they would be, but super cute!

How to Wear a Plaid Poncho

I totally loved this cape when I tried it on in Nordstrom.  There are so many to choose from and it seems like you can find one just about anywhere because they are so popular this season.  Do a little shopping around and I know you can pick one or even two up for under $30 each. It will just depend on the color and pattern you are drawn to.  I liked the neutrality to this pattern so I can throw any color on with it all season long!  I have to admit.... as I strolled into the street for the pictures I had a hard time not feeling like an extra in the movie Outlaw Josie Wales..... boots, cape, hat, all I was missing was my gun strapped to my thigh.  I'm pretty sure they didn't wear hot pink and dangly earrings back then either; but I could definitely be a supporting role in an updated version of the movie don't you think?! HA!
In all seriousness though, you should pick yourself up a cape this season as a great accessory for a little price.  And while you are at it.... grab a new floppy hat if you haven't already.  I cannot wear mine enough, I love it! I am thinking about getting a tan hat too!  What do you think of this look? Would you wear a cape?  My besties mom always wore capes; much longer and actually more like a square with a hole cut in the middle for her head  and we always associated them as being frumpy.... I am not thinking this is a frumpy look!

A quick way to take a bland outfit and spice it up is add a pop of color. We all at one time or another have thrown together an outfit with black and gray. Chances are you probably threw on a pair of black shoes too.  Next time try a bright shoe for fun.  Maybe a fun colbalt, or this mustard heel.  It will take an ordinary day and make it something extraordinary if you allow it! Geez, now I sound like a narrator!!  I recently had a neighbor tell me she would never try the things I put together.  I reminded her that her greatest accessory is confidence!  Hey, it's like I always say...... rock it with confidence and try not to get ran over when standing in the middle of the street!

Plaid Dress

Happy Monday!  It was a beautiful weekend and I enjoyed the great weather and squeezed in a little shopping too!  I have been searching for some new things to add to my fall wardrobe and this dress is the perfect amount of plaid and comfort!  I loved it from the minute I saw it hanging in the store!  I can't wait for a few cooler days so I can wear my Frye boots with this dress too!  Speaking of boots.... these booties sold out last season and lucky for you they are back in stock this season.  They are super comfy and go with almost anything; seriously!   

I knew I would need to switch out my favorite lipstick for a richer color to compliment this dress.  I pulled out my berry lipgloss and it was a perfect match.  I am going to hate it when I have to put my favorite pink lipstick on fall break!  What are you looking forward to this fall?

Transitioning Tunics for Fall

I am seriously crushing hard on this entire roundup. Are you not loving the blush and burgundy for fall?   Banana Republic is having a great sale and most everything is either on sale or on fall discount so I wouldn't wait if you love an item because the sale won't last much longer.   You can't beat 40% off select new items and an additional 40% off already sale items.     I was in my Banana Republic store this week and may have picked up a few of these items already.  But I am going to have to go back for the rest.  I'm loving it!

Black and White

Sometimes you just have to keep it black and white.  I was serious when I mentioned I am going to transition these white jeans right into the fall.  I have a few more outfit ideas so look for them soon.  I want to talk about my new flats.  Cute right?  Ummm yeah, these are fabulous!  With pointed toes and embellished calf hair leopard they are going to be on heavy rotation.  MGemi is hitting it out of the park with all the new styles they release and killing me with so many I want.  Not a fan of the leopard?  No problem.... they offer them in three other colors.  But be warned, they sell out fast so I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on a pair.

With fall comes a busy event schedule.  I have back to back events for the next two weeks and I am a little overwhelmed with so much going on.  There is Sip, Shop, & Walk tonight, then the Chic Events the entire weekend.  Monday evening I thought might be fun to go to the Blog Talk KC to discuss how to make the most visual platform work for you, not to mention supporting a few local blogger gals!  Then the next week is Kansas City Fashion week and that is 4+ days of non stop fashion.  Whew.... I think that is about it.  And then I want to go home to visit the parental who I haven't seen in a while.  I think I am going to be a blur for a bit!

How was your long Holiday weekend?  We have officially turned the page to the "other" side of labor day; but that doesn't mean you have to stop wearing white!  I plan on transitioning my white jeans well into fall. This tunic in on heavy rotation too and you can see how I wore it last here.   We have had an enormous amount of rain this summer and yesterday and last night was no exception. I think we are even expected to have rain for two more days!   I have to admit rain isn't near as daunting when you can trek around in your Hunters!  I was so glad when I received my first pair as a gift last year. It makes rain puddles trendy!  Now I think I need this pair as well!  Happy Tuesday friends!  I hope you are dry where ever you are!

Can you believe we are at the last few days of August?  With fall on our heels I decided to do a little fall shopping.  I made some great new purchases for fall over the weekend but I didn't pick up everything I wanted.  These things caught my eye and I definitely have them on my list.  I am really craving moss green this season and this tunic would make a perfect addition.  I actually had this polka dot vest in my hands to try on and got side tracked and ended up picking up three sweaters on sale.  Do I even need to explain the need for these leopard booties?  Nuf said.  I started looking at new handbags when I was in California and haven't made any decisions yet, but when I saw this Chloe tote I really fell in love with it.  My only hold up is I love the blush but this blue is a great fall color.  What would you do?  Are you ready for fall?  What is on your list to purchase?
