Wednesday Wants

This weeks edition of Wednesday wants is about as pretty as you could want.  We had weather move in yesterday afternoon (and by weather I mean freezing rain and ice) and dreaming of soft spring blush colors is a definite mood lifter.  This blush turtleneck you could wear now all cozy with a scarf for the colder temperatures  and would carry you right into spring.  Okay, these blush wedges... with the tassels, and the beaded strap.... gorgeous!  Target's new line is so fresh and inviting, not to mention flying off the shelves as usual.  I was lucky and able to picked up this faux Mongolian fur pillow at my Target and it was the last one they had.  It is still available online and you should seriously get it.  I have a genuine Mongolian fur pillow in my office you can see here, and the quality of this faux blush Mongolian fur is so close to real it's difficult to tell it's faux.  The final favorite this week is this blush skirt.  It resembles a skater skirt but lays softly against you instead of flaring out like most skater skirts. Adorable!

Happy Wednesday!  I mentioned in yesterday's post two staple items I was missing so naturally they are on this weeks wants list!  I have been a fan of Two Penny Blue for some time and admire the traditional cute of their blazers.  This navy blazer would be so versatile. It's also available in several other colors and styles.   I'm on the hunt now for the perfect (for me) nude pump.  There is no shortage of nude pumps to chose from so it may take a while to finally find what works for me.  This is a great start however.  The perfect white button down is important.  I admit, I am lacking this item but love this shirt.   If you have been following me for a while you know I have a love for a great bag.  One of the first things I look at besides quality is its unique factor.  This bag hits the mark.  I love the design and attention to detail.  The entire line reflects such a simply luxury and at an obtainable price point, you could own several.

Happy Wednesday.  This weeks roundup is about style.  This boyfriend blazer adds just the right among of structure but not fitted.  Love it.  The Dior sunnies in their sleek silver and pale pink is a show stopper.  I am glad pink drivers are back in stock with M Gemi and these croc embossed are a must for me.  I mean a girl can never have too many pairs of pink shoes right?  This bedroom bench is adorable.  The center leg adds extra support and the tufting and trim?  nice!  It's on major sale right now and depending on the color you choose it is even a bigger sale!  Bringing up the rear is by no means a slouch... unless of course you are referring to the structure.  This slouchy trench would be perfect on those rainy days when all you want to do is get from your car to the building without looking like a stuffed sausage in a buttoned up coat.  Rainy season will be here before you know it and  you will be happy to have your new trench ready to go.  Can't wait to see what next weeks favorite are.

I am seriously crushing hard on this entire roundup. Are you not loving the blush and burgundy for fall?   Banana Republic is having a great sale and most everything is either on sale or on fall discount so I wouldn't wait if you love an item because the sale won't last much longer.   You can't beat 40% off select new items and an additional 40% off already sale items.     I was in my Banana Republic store this week and may have picked up a few of these items already.  But I am going to have to go back for the rest.  I'm loving it!

How To Shop With Groupon Coupons

It's no surprise I like to shop and shopping online is no exception.  Like most shoppers I also want to score the best deal possible.  Did you know Groupon offers coupons to some of your favorite place to shop?  Yes you read that right Groupon has coupons.  Unlike Groupon, there is no upfront purchase required to reap the benefits of saving.  Offering over 55,000 coupons  and promo codes totally free for the shopper, Groupon Coupons partners with more than 8,000 retailers to pass this savings on to you; top stores like Nordstrom, Express, Macy's, JC Penny, Nike and the list goes on. Taking a trip?  Search the site for deals with one of their partners Expedia, Hotwire or Travelocity.  I just returned from my trip to California and used Expedia for my hotel deal.   Rather shop in person?  you can also print some coupons off and take with you.  Many of these coupons are exclusive to Groupon Coupons. 
When you first open the webpage you will see their top coupons and offers. Who knows you may find deal you weren't looking for.  If a specific store is how you would rather shop, type the name in the search bar and it will bring up all the stores current offers.  I almost always search for an extra discount or coupon when shopping online.  

  I am a huge Nordstrom shopper, and Express.  If you remember this past fall I raved about my favorite pair of jeans, dress slacks and Portofino tops which are all from Express.  Adding a Groupon Coupon discount only makes my purchase that much nicer.   While I no longer have back to school shopping to do for my kids.... I do want to take advantage of the sales as well as the end of season sales.  Adding an additional discount to already sale items is a no brainer!!

You may search by store or category

If you don't find a discount for your item, look for a free shipping offers.  Sometimes that in itself is a 10% savings!

Shop around for your specific item and compare savings with other stores offering the same item. 

Watch for when the offer expires so you don't miss the deal

One of my favorite stores has packed up and left town.  I don't know if I was living under a rock or what.... but how did I miss that?  Ann Taylor had 3 locations here in the metro a few years ago and then closed one store.  Okay.... that was not too bad.  But now they up and closed the other two leaving me to only shop online.  Oh Ann, how I will miss you! Online shopping with you is not the same.  But right now 40% off isn't too shabby!

Dorm Room Essentials

School is officially back in session.  Your home is quiet and empty.... well for some at least!  If you're one of those that sent your daughter, sister, or maybe a niece off to college, right about now she is making new friends, hustling to class, and learning to live away from home for the first time.  Scary times for some, and others adapt like it's no biggie!  Sending her a care package with a few thoughtful gifts would brighten her day and let her know... hey you may be gone but not forgotten!! I always love receiving unexpected packages in the mail.  My mom recently came across a stack of letters I wrote to her when I was at summer camp and almost every single letter I asked her to send me candy! 50 x Fifty Update

So my birthday is this weekend and if you haven't noticed with my recent wish list I am excited!  Yes I know, this is a milestone and I am okay with it!  It is a pretty surreal.  I have gotten so many surprised reactions from people when I tell them I am turning 50 that it has actually made me feel pretty good!  Just yesterday a new acquaintance I made wanted to know what eye cream I use because she could not believe it when I told her my age! Makes me feel pretty darn good! So I figured it was time for an update on my 50 x fifty list!  I still have several things to check off, but I did allow the list to be for the whole year not just up until my birthday.  

the one thing I really learned from this list is that it became something to reach for.  Obtainable goals o work into everyday life.  Several times my girls at the office have asked "so what on your list have you done, or what needs to be done? " It has been great and I may do a smaller version every year for goal settings! So here it is... the list! 

1.   Attend  "Blog Shop" preferably in person
2.   Visit Gayle, my bff She spent the long 4th weekend here during my staycation!
3.   Shop in the West Bottoms on First Fridays
4.   Finally have my Grandmothers barrel chair reupholstered
5.   Go on vacation in Naples  I sent Joe for three weeks and took a staycation... does that count? I think so!
6.   Complete the redesign and branding of my blog.  Keeping the design I love and the branding has been coming along well.
7.   Completely redecorate my Master bedroom (Picking paint now) Almost finished
8.   Do something just for me...every week  Loving this one and so doing it every week!
9.   Lose 20 lbs
10. Take a photography class
11. Girls road trip weekend
12. Invest in another designer bag I have it narrowed down... did you see my birthday list?
13. Clean out my closet (for real, deep clean what is never ever going to be worn again) DONE!
14. Take all the grand kids to the zoo Spent Mother's Day 2014 with them!!
15. Go to Dallas for the Weekend
16. Try Bangs... again!  Completed Feb 27 and I actually am enjoying them!
17. Take a yoga class  Woot!  The girls and I currently are in a class.
18. Make a weekly meal plan and follow it Working at it.. still needs a little work
19. Start a new linkup on my blog, Who wants to join?
20. Partner with more brands I love Working this one for sure and love all the new opportunities.

36. Try something new on the menu at my favorites places to eat (I'm a creature of habit) This was easier than I imagined!
37. Share words of affirmation with my kids every week for encouragement  Accomplishing this and starting to see the results of positive actions from them.
38. Attend Go Blog Social again (Here in KC this April) Missed it!  But not next year.
39. Bake gluten free treats Have them... just need to bake them now!
40. Host a party at my house
41. Attend my nieces wedding in Minneapolis
42. Plant a vegetable garden Total fail....
43. Take updated family photos with all my boys
44. Take my daughter in law shopping at Nell Hills (The best shopping ever)

My Birthday is coming up...and not just any birthday, but the big one!!  Yes... I will be turning 50 on August 3rd.  So... with that being said I decided to round up a few things that are on my list.  I tend to be a sentimental person when it comes to gifts but this year I am leaning more towards fabulous treats for me!  Who wouldn't want a Disco bag for their birthday... or a new pair of Sunnies and a great stack of new bracelets!  This girl that's who!! I want  every. Single. Thing. on this list!

Oh Hello Wednesday… so happy to see you!  It's hump day peeps, lets get excited!  Today's favorites are what I like about June.  A great bag to carry to the pool is always fun and the brighter the better.  It has to be colorful and deep enough to hold plenty of water, towels and lotion!  This one is perfect, and the great thing is it can also be a great running errands bag!   And speaking of running errands I love to throw on a maxi and go.  It is effortless and makes you look polished even if you did forget makeup!!!  

I recently purchased a pair of cutoff jean shorts. I love how versatile they can look depending on what you pair them with.  Throw them on over you swim suit… put on a pair of wedges and a tank with a few long layering necklaces, or a tee and flip flops… however you style them they always work!  You need to add a pair to your summer line up for sure.  And don't go too tattered and torn with them, I know that's the style for some ages, but too much distress and they are difficult to dress up!  I have posted about espadrilles a few times and how I love them.  These beauties are lace espadrilles so that makes them a double score for the win!  So feminine and pretty in the white.  Don't you love them?

Happy Wednesday friends!  I was missing yesterday but I'm back today with my four favorites.  A couple of colorful things have caught my eye and this maxi dress is one of them.  I love love love the colors in it and the design would be so slimming.  Speaking of slimming…. pools are open and than means cute bikinis!  This darling terry bag would be perfect to keep in you beach bag to contain your wet suit for a) the drive home so you don't have to sit on a towel, or b) you are headed out for a while and don't want to be wet all day in your suit.  Love all the colors to choose from too.   

How many times have you sucked pulp thru your straw from fruit in your water? I know I have and the first thing you want to do is spit!  Ummmm….. hello? That's not so lady like!!  This Citric Zinger  allows you to press lemons, limes, and even clementines directly into your water.  An all natural free of sugar drink .  Pretty cool huh?   

Ok…. This wedge is fab…u…lous!!!  Nuff said.
