Pop of Color

Last night On The Real Housewives of Orange County they had a bunko party with a twist.  Tamara hosted it with an 80's theme.  Although neon is trending again, I can honestly say I am glad the 80's style is not.  There was almost as much neon at the party as there is here.    Add a little pop of neon to your outfit and spice up your day. These colors really are so fun.   I always love a bright pink polish in the summer on my toes.  My favorites are 3, 4, and 6.  Would you wear neon?

Love

I'm in love with LOVE..........

I ordered this wonderful poster from Jen at Made By Girl and love it!  I had seen it for some time on her blog and  all the ways others have displayed theirs.  It is so sleek in the silver.  Mine is not matted but only in a silver frame.  A simple look.   Ikea makes a wonderful frame that would be perfect for this.  Unfortunately we don't have a store anywhere in the state.  Whats up with that Ikea?  If I decide to matte it I will post a pic. For now this is the frame its is in.   Love it!  We are in the process of painting the office and redecorating the room.  I will be hanging in the office when it is complete and posting all the pics of the redecorated room as soon as we are done.

It is available in many colors.  Here it is matted and framed in the gold.

Jen has many wonderful posters at her Made By Girl site.  But what I really am admiring these days is an original piece of her art.  She runs Cocoa and Hearts where she sells her original artwork.  Check out her blog! And her art!

This is called Love Language.  I think I have a spot for this as well.

Next on my list is this beauty.  She is currently sold out, but has recently posted there are new ones coming soon.  I want this for my office.   I have the perfect spot for this next to my desk!   I love the pinks, of course!

Birthday in Oklahoma

March 05, 2012
Happy Monday!

What a Busy weekend.  My youngest grandson turned one on Saturday and I drove to Oklahoma to celebrate with family.  My son had leave from the Army (he is stationed in El Paso) and they drove to visit family while he was on leave.  I am originally from Oklahoma so my parents still live there.  My niece from Chicago flew down to KC on Friday to make the drive with my sister and I.  It was a girls road trip!!  (Except for the two teenage boys we took with us)  Anyhoo....  It was a great party and there were a few surprises along the way for  some well deserving peeps!!

As long as I can remember it has been a tradition for my grandma (on my mom's side) to make a teddy bear cake for your birthday as long as it was age appropriate!  My mom makes the teddy bears now.  My Grams is still alive and and pretty sharp for her age of 96.  She will be 97 this August.  Her birthday is the day before mine, so I spent every birthday growing up celebrating with her.  I can't imagine there will be too many more joint celebrations so I will cherish the events as long as possible.  I better give a little shout out to my other niece, Hi Megan, who shares a birthday with me!  Love you!!  We are all Leos! Not that that needed to be announced.  My personalty screams Leo!   I digress.

I hope you enjoy my weekend in pictures.  I took over 400 pictures of the weekend, and sadly my ornery oldest grandson would not cooperate! I think I only captured a handful of photos with him smiling and his ball cap is creating a shadow on his face!  No I am not posting 400 photos for you to have to look at.  Geezzz... that would be like inviting you over for dinner and whipping out the old slide carousel!

We went to Sams club and I made a center piece for the table.  I used a bunch of old Kerr jars my mom had and just tapped a band of ribbon around the middle.  Pretty simple and super cute!

He wasn't sure what to do with the cake so he ate the decorations off the ear.

Signs of spring showing up in the yard

Beautiful Oklahoma sunset

It is always nice to visit family, but I am glad to be home.  I missed reading my favorite blogs.  I have some catching up to do.  Hope you had a great weekend.  I have some exciting post lined up for this week you won't want to miss.

Clutch love

March 01, 2012

Let me just start by saying, pictures do not due this justice.  I was so excited to get this package in the mail.  This is my first Kslade clutch, but I promise you it won't be my last.

I ordered this beauty a little over a week ago and it arrived over the weekend!  I am so excited to carry it.  I have never really carried a clutch but I wanted a fun alternative to those time when we go out (obviously after this post it will not be for dinner for 40 days) and I just needed a small bag.  I decided on the silver snakeskin even though it was not what I would generally pick out.  I guess you could say I am trying new things.  I usually would have gone for the leopard.  I am glad I picked this one.

I love the detail of the leather.  It is the perfect size for a few essentials to run around on the weekend, or to go to dinner.  I think I will use it a lot.

She was so sweet and even sent me this keychain as a gift.  She offered them as a gift with your order two days after I ordered and was sweet enough to let me have one as well.  Thanks Kelsea.  Don't you think that is a rich purple?

Look at all the colors.  I just love them all.
